Some customers (especially business customers) will have multiple people associated with them. Adding people to a customer is simple. In the customer’s page, find the “People” section and click the “+” icon.
Now we need to enter the information about the new person. You’ll need to enter the person’s “First name”, the person’s “Last name”, and select which site the person is associated with under “Location”. If the person isn’t associated with any particular site, you should select “Unassigned”. You can create additional sites for the customer by going to the customer’s page and clicking on the “+” icon in the “Sites” section. After you have filled in these fields, you may select the person’s “Title”, enter the person’s email address under “Email”, enter the person’s position within the business or association under “Position”, a direct line phone number under “Direct Line”, a mobile phone number under “Mobile Number”, or select whether or not you want to send the person a welcome email under “Send Welcome Email” (“Yes” is selected by default). Below these fields are checkboxes, which are unticked by default. You can tick “Deny Issue Creation” if you don’t want the new person to be able to raise issues with you, tick “Deny Portal” if you want to block them from your customer portal, tick “Primary Contact” if they are the customer’s main contact with you, tick “Billing Contact” if they are the customer’s billing contact, or tick “Technical Contact” if they are the customer’s technical contact. Click “Save & Close” to finish and save the new person.
If you have done everything right, you should be sent to the customer’s people page, displaying information about the different people the customer has. If not then you may have entered invalid information into a field or left a field blank. Any blank required fields will be highlighted red with red text underneath telling you that these fields are required. You will need to fill in these fields before moving on. If you have entered any invalid information, a speech bubble with a yellow exclamation mark icon will appear beneath the field telling you why the entered information is invalid.
Once you have corrected all of the errors, click “Save & Close”. The new person should be saved and you should be sent to the customer’s people page.
