Getting to know the layout
To get the most out of LaserTask the first step is to familiarise yourself with the layout.
We have designed LaserTask to follow the flow of business. So you will notice the left menu follows the flow of work as it travels through your business.
As you’ll see from this image the modules are all listed in a logical order.
This module allows you to send marketing email to people in LaserTask.
Leads are ‘pre-customer’. Think of them as post it notes. You know, a get a phone call about a potential bit of work but it’s too soon to create them as a customer yet. Create a lead here instead. You won’t forget them, you won’t lose the post it note and you can see how well you convert leads into customers.
This is where you will keep all sorts of information about your customers here. This module is also known as a CRM – Customer Relationship Manager. In here you can see the customer history, addresses, people, contracts/agreements and so much more. You’ll probably spend a lot of time in here.
This is a great place to record potential opportunities. If you run a seperate sales team and tech/engineering team then you will probably want to make a lot of use of this module. It’s a great place for your business to record the opportunity so that your sales team can pick this up, liaise with the customer and then ultimately create quotes or estimates.
Every business should send properly formatted quotes or estimates. Doing it in this module will help you track the progress, follow up stale quotes and measure how well your sales team is working. Also it’s so much easier creating quotes in here than Excel or Word. It’s a great feeling when you know that all quotes follow the same formats and standards. You can create Quotes or Estimates here.
If you run a help desk of any kind, for example an IT company or broadband supplier or such like, then you will find our Help Desk incredible. Use it to help manage your call centre and ensure that you get work done within SLA times. If you don’t have a help desk then turn this module off in the settings.
Once quotes have been accepted you will want to create a job for them in this module. Creating jobs helps you keep track of the work, make sure everything is done on time, track time spent working for the client, allow teams to collaborate together and easily answer customers questions when they call without having to wait for the engineer/technician to be available.
Knowledge is a place where you can create knowledge documents privately for your business. Write articles that the whole team can easily find and use to help customers. You can create knowledge articles for absolutely anything you like.
The stock module allows you to create purchase orders for suppliers and manage your stock. If you have stock our stock management system will help you keep track of every single item. Use this module to manage all your stock control needs.
Invoices can be created from various places in the system. Either from the Customer Module, Jobs Module, Help Desk Module or here in Invoices. Use this module to view your invoices and manage the credit control and chasing of payments. So easy!
The Accounts module allows you to receive and track payments customers have sent you. If customers overpay you by accident or give you a deposit record it all here and track every penny of your customers money.
Manage your business like a boss with the Reports module. Get detailed information about your business here.
So as you see there is literally everything you need to run your business here. Not enough? Well worry not, because we have plans to add more modules here. Got an idea? Please let us know in the Forum.
